Grooming your dog
Keeping your dog well groomed and looking nice not only keep them looking healthy but is actually part of keeping them healthy too. It is not only food and good exercise that keeps your dog’s coat all shiny but good grooming. It helps to get rid of excess hair that has been shed, tangles, burs and matting. Prevents serious skin disease and disorders by keeping their coat clipped and helps their gait by trimming their nails.
But professionally grooming parlors can get expensive especially as some breeds need grooming a lot more than others.
Top dog grooming tips
You are going to need your dog to stay still and clam whilst you wash then groom them.
Taking them for a walk, run or playing some ball with them will help burn off excess energy. This is especially true for younger dogs to puppies.
It is a good idea to invest in a good dog shampoo and conditioner.
Make sure you get a dog shampoo as these are specially formulated for dogs to enhance their coats and help with shedding and protect against various skin ailments. Never use human shampoo on a dog as it can be rather toxic, burn their skin and cause bad allergic reactions. Make sure you double rinse your dog after both the shampoo and condition to ensure that you have all of it out of their fur.
